Caribtecture aims to research and publish Caribbean Architectural History + Design by collaborating with writers, historians, architects and designers throughout the Caribbean Archipelago to create both a visual and written narrative of Caribbean Architectural History. In doing so, we hope to provide a digital platform for the work of Caribbean Architects, and adjacent professionals. It is our hope that our research in time will help celebrate, educate, guide and contribute to the development of a climate-resilient built environment.

The Caribbean’s perspective and contributions to the field of Architecture as both an art and a science has been historically sidelined for far to long. In my opinion there is a severe lack of academic study and published research on Caribbean architectural design, heritage and history. It is my dream that we as a region are known for more that our vibrant colour schemes, tropical architectural elements and climatic considerations.
